    Hey

I have searched arround a bit, and I noticed that there arent many seo tools for mac users. Since I got a Macbook a some time ago, I'm looking to purchase some tools for my mac.

What are the most used SEO tools for mac, or tools that are compatible with both windows and mac

    Thanks

You're never gonna be able to do anything serious SEO-wise on a Mac. Too few tools and the ones there are aren't the top level tools. Sorry man.

Why even buy a mac in the first place, the only thing they do better than a windows PC is cost more.

  12. Had a mac only when I started, and you won't get far without a windows vps, or a VBox.
VirtualBox is best if you don't have the loot for VPS.

Virtualbox or parallels desktop for a virtual in your Mac, or a vps And you can connect to with Itap rdp client (the best rdp client for Mac). I choose the second way with bhsvps that have genuine preloaded software)!

if you can't afford a windows vps, then you can install https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Downloads (it's free) -- you just need a copy of windows you can get on newegg.com for around $100. The only apps I found for mac are tweetadder, rank tracker, and market/domain samurai

I run everything on my mac, and honestly it's so much better than a windows, I have both but going back and forth is kind of a pain so I downloaded this program called Parallel for free and then just installed the beta of windows 8, now I got windows 8 on my mac and can run whatever the hell I want on it and it's usually faster and never crashes, you might wanna give it a try.

Just for the record I do all my work on a Mac and haven't touched a Windows machine in years. However I make all my own tools and don't really use any off the shelf software. OS X is the best Unix development platform there is.

However if you are not a developer then there's not much point in using Mac OS X for SEO, because all the off the shelf tools are for Windows.

My friend and I are currently developing some SEO toolbox, its written in java, so it means its multi platform(win, osx, linux). One tool, all platforms.
Currently we have kw rank position tool, and competition analysis tools developed, lot of work ahead of us.
