Any risk to rebranding a different topic IG account?

I have a dormant IG account with about 250 followers in the art niche. I am not using it anymore and I am going to start a new IG account in a totally separate niche - any risk in changing the account name/username and deleting all the content and starting afresh? This way I can have 250 followers off the bat. Or can this harm me since the 250 followers will not engage with the content from the new account?

When changed, the account automatically notifies followers that the old account has changed to a new name

Not a great idea. Because those followers might not be interested in your new niche, causing your ER to drop. And your new niche account would be dead before it even started.
 
There is no risk to the account itself, but the followers of the account may not be interested in the content. This isn't really a problem, as you can just prune the non active followers as time goes on.
