Any recommended web design courses?

I want to learn web design, currently learning HTML, CSS + PHP.

But I love designing, and making websites. My only problem is, I can't design for jack... when I attempt to design a website, it's overwhelming because there's so many possibilities, yet I don't know any rules or concepts to structure it around.

Are there any good web design courses you have done that you recommend? I'd love to seriously become an expert in it, not just a beginner. I know that will take time, but I need both beginner, intermediate and advances materials in one course to go through. A structured way of learning as I see it.

If you are not ready to develop your own design try to copy any completed one. Choose any one, study it and try to repeat on your own way.

Check udemy a lot of free or paid courses are good enough to get you start.

What's your background in art? are you one of those gifted creative mind? hehe

if not, i personally started with reading 'How to Fly a Horse' - it's a basic book for creativity 'cause I'd have negative score on a creative scale

then i learned some basic arts; stuff like elements & principles of art, color theory, typography, some UX shit like journey maps etc

I'm still not a UI designer (never tried to be one, i just wanted to learn design, some figma and XD) but nowadays i can get a way better design up and running that my dev-mind wouldn't even be able to think of

start with the book then... you may end up sparking some new neuron-links. you can search youtube after that - lot's of free content available.

As it has been mentioned by others already , Udemy is a great option . You can get access to various courses for free if you do some basic search in Google or even in this forum. Once you get started and learn the basics , you can just go and experiment on your own , do some work for free to get experience and you'll get better faster than you think.

i suggest to learn it from udemy, there a free udemy course and you can learn from it.

if you already know intermediate about PHP, CSS and HTML, you can googling on flippa to get new ideas for design, sometimes as developer we have to looking for new ideas to get newer ideas to .. good luck

Copy other websites / codes and learn from it

Udemy
Skillshare

Don't overwork / learn, do it consistently over the next 12 months and then you will get there.

I recommend udemy, I have learnt so many skills over there, but make sure you choose courses with a lot of content and some 1-hour course.
