Anyone here use Photoshop (or other gfx programs) on a regular basis? I use PS pretty much every day for logos, banners etc. Also use it to assist me making a few vBulletin skins :) Actually using PS to make graphics was the easiest money I made in a day ($200 about a year ago which was quite a bit for me since it was the first money I made online :p) Haven't done any PS stuff for money since though.

Also I have used Flash and Cinema 4D quite a bit to make a few little things, but not for a while.

So any other graphic folks out there on BHW?

Oh wow, Olly, that is really neat! I have used PS for about 5 years but I am self taught. I really should take some classes and see what it can really do. That is really unusual and creative! Have you entered it in any contests? I love it!

Just had a new header made from Jeff here at BHW and was talking to him
about how I need to get Photoshop. I don't know if I would have time then
again I spent over $11,000 this last year in graphics alone.

I have it and I make my own ecovers.
I draw the line at headers.......

That is a neat pic! Did you use brushes?

i have made 65% if my income this year with photoshop...headers, websites, logos, business cards - you name it.
 
I go by the motto if it ain't broke don't fix it. The $100 I've spent on my boxedart membership has come back to me infinitely multiple times. It actually only costs $50 for a few months but I forgot to cancel the subscription and they won't give refunds (I tried battling it out with paypal for the last $50 and lost). Anyway they have tons of templates, logos, images, cartoons, a little bit of everything. I use these and other free images and templates as well as buy unique stuff here and there. My Photoshop skills are only good enough to edit images, copy and pasting, that's about it and that's all I need to save a ton of cash. When I buy unique stuff I go to other webmaster related forums and usually you'll get rookie designers that do a decent job to work for extremely cheap. I got 8 coded VBulletin skins for $100, some phpbb skins for $15 each, unique site templates coded $5 each, logos $5 each, and other great deals on completely unique items. Sometimes the coding sucks on the templates and I'd have to re-code or get it re-coded.

I guess somehow I strayed off-topic. My Photoshop skills suck but I can defend myself when I have to. Usually I prefer to pay for big jobs. Small jobs I do myself.
 
Great pic Olly, very creative, I think you should enter it somewhere or have it published, I've seen a lot worse than that in some of our art gallerys here in the UK
 
I use photoshop quite a bit also...I have used it for over 8 years. I am a photographer so I do a lot of retouch and enhancing. My clients go crazy when they see that I can shrink there waist, increase their bust or smooth their skin!

The possibilities with photoshop are inexhaustible.

I can see we will have to keep our eye on you olly sorry the best jokes are the oldest, you should start your own members website for photoshop tutorials, l am self taught and need to produce adverts for my search engines guess l am too stingy to purchase them but like ruck says, better to farm the work out and make money quicker nicho
 
Been off for a couple of days and just wanna say thanks for the compliments :wink1:

I was wondering if anyone knows how to start getting into selling graphics online? I've done a few bits on DP which was alright for quick little bits of money in my PayPal account but to be honest I just can't be bothered to do the stuff for the tiny prices people pay over there, I want to get into it more professionally (For more money :p)

Have you tried elance.com or guru.com? It seems like this would be a better place to get clients than DP. Also, maybe advertising on craigslist too.

If youre into design, you should check out my old good friends site http://handofdave.com (click on the crow to enter the site) he does some really cool shit. And if you want some really sick step by step tutorials for doing some intricate stuff.. check out http://eyeball-design.com/ <-- he does mostly sci-fi heavy stuff. Really cool
 
GIMP here. It is a bit rough around the edges compared to PS, but the price is so much better.
 
Use photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign.

If you guys have any simple work, I am decent, hit me up.
