Anyone here ever used / completed p90x?

How were your results?

P90x is OK.

If you really want some overall dramatic results, you need to try "Insanity"

If I were you, that's where I'd start. It even comes with a whole meal plan for you.

I've used both P90X and Insanity.

I did P90X in two different occasions......results were great even though I didn't fully commit to do the routines.

I TRIED to do Insanity and unless you're getting paid to look like the people in the commercials or your life depends on it.....I don't recommended it, is just too brutal! and soon you will hate it and wont touch it again.

P90X is also hard but more manageable.

Also let me tell you that diet is VERY, VERY important; while doing P90X the first time I didn't diet at all and saw results, but the next time I did it along with diet the results were better and faster.

So yeah P90X is fun, hard, works and is different from your average workout.....which reminds me that I need to get on it again as I've gained 35 lbs since getting fired!

If you're going for fitness, p90x is excellent.

With that being said, fitness and a good appearance are two different things. If you're just trying to lose weight and look good, it's 95% diet, 5% exercise. A famous saying at a lot of gyms "A 6 pack is made in the kitchen, not the gym."

I've done both p90x and insanity. They're both excellent workout routines.

I did P90X for one month with great results..I was doing low carb on it which is harder because energy is a factor because lack of carbs...but I'm about to start it again.

If you're not doing a program because you say it's "brutal" then that's where the problem is, your mindset.

You only grow from outside of your comfort zone.

Thanks guys!

Has anyone tried doing this without taking the diet into consideration? How were results?

You will still lose some weight just not as quickly. Your better off going hardcore with the diet and working out and getting to your goal. Once you get there maintenance is easy and you could pretty much eat almost anything...well to a point.

If your a true internet geek I would start out with the p90 and work your way up to the p90x, it makes it alot easier to get into the mindset needed for a more vigorous routine like the p90x

You can't out train a bad diet, it's the key ingredient to getting in shape. If you struggle with diet then I suggest getting a gym membership and deadlifting, squatting, bench pressing, overhead pressing, cleaning etc until you can't do any more each day then you can eat far more leniently.

If you can stay on a strict diet then both P90x and Insanity are decent.

P90X is an amazing workout! As Tony says himself "I hate it but I love it!".

I have always loved doing all kinds of different sports yet P90X was still hard for me.

Trust me, you have to try it yourself, like we tend to say here: "Take action!".

Just one final question - I was reading their forums and it says you get a pack of about 12 CD's... starting with the basics and ending with the "ab killer".

Does one need to watch and complete the CD's in the order it is being given? For e.g. - basic starters, shoulders, legs, backs, etc?

Or can we do CD 1 first and then a bit of the last CD and then back to CD 4?

You have routines for every week threw three months. You get explanation how it works. You should fallow there guidelines. Also dependent of your goals (gain muscle or loose weight), p90x might not be best program for you. I would not recommend p90x for muscle gain but for weight loss is excellent. If exercises are to hard then scale them down so you can complete them (don't do full push ups but push ups from knees etc..).

Also when I was trying out p90x after a while I got so annoyed with guy presenting work outs that I wrote down exercises and done them that way.

All in all p90x is great work out.

Whaat? How can one get bored of the mighty Tony Horton?
Personally, I love the way he trains others. Probably because he used to be a comedian.

What do you want to accomplish with this? Building muscle or losing weight?

And if you want to build muscle, do you want to get ripped or bulk up?

I personally don't really like programs like P90x etc. I think you can get much better result by just going to the gym, and make that your habit. It's not like you can do that program for 90 days and then go back to your old habits and expect to keep your gains.

I exercise every day and I'll go crazy if I don't. Fitness is a great way to release stress and just to think about things (for me).

And what the people above you say, diet is very important. I first neglected it as well and thought it wasn't necessary, but I regret it a lot that I didn't do it at day one. Diets may seem hard but it is in fact pretty easy, and if you're going to bulk up it's just easy as fck.

Right now I focus on building muscle and get to around 7% body fat, I can give you my workout scheme and diet if you'd like.

I like the part in Ab Ripper X where Tony says something like "Don't stop! Keep going! But if you need a break, TAKE IT!" I was like wtf lol.

Those guys are making so much money with so little overhead.
