Instrument - Keys/lead guitar
Genre - POP and Hip Hop
DAW- Fruity Loops

Been doing it since I was a child. My parents were heavy into music and I was raised around a studio. Remember driving to different states when my parents would drop off demos on tapes. Music kept changing and they were not willing to change with it. But yelp. What about you?

What is daw and what do you parents listen to?
My parents forbid musical instruments (can listen but can't play) when I was kid because of stereotype towards musicians.

A DAW is a digital audio workstation. We use this to make the music on a computer. You have 2 options. You can make music in a studio with physical hardware like a mixer board, guitars, and etc. Or you can use DAW software on a computer to use the builtin instruments and mixer that comes with it.

My parents listened to all type of music. The sky is the limits. The demos they use to take to Sony was POP music though..

Also a DAW can be used for other things too because you can record you voice into it. Slice up the vocals and other things.

Wow. Sorry to hear that about not being able to play instruments. There are all type of music to be played though. My brother plays classical music and jazz. Real smooth to listen to. Maybe try it out one day. When playing the piano you and it become one. It is a beautiful instrument.

You are a lucky man, my mom tried to make me learn the violin when I was around 6 years old, fck I hated that violin. Never learned it either.
