Hey Guys,

I recently bought 30 ips on seohosting.com to host my apps. They gave me 30 class C ips.

Surprisingly, when I uploaded my apps, the apps were NOT able to send Wall Posts (aka Stream_Publish). I tested on ALL 30 and none of them worked.:y:

Just to make sure, Iam not screwing things up I uploaded the app code quickly on another hosting and voila it worked!

Just to make myself double sure, that the hosting is screwing me up, I coded a single page app just to check stream_publish and it didn't work! :(

Does anyone here have similar experience with seohosting.com? Please do share.

I have filed for a paypal dispute which Iam sure I will win, Cause they have a 45 money back guarantee.

Or else, I will shitlist them, atleast for people who want to host their FB apps with them.

Dont fall in with their Hostgator name and brand, their IPs are all fucked up bigtime, specially for any FB apps business. BH + WH apps both.

If you are coding in python and java you can host your apps in google apps engine cloud hosting. It's free, scalable, you won't have problems with cpu usage and so on...

Persoanlly I tried quercus to transform php to java but it's full of bugs.

indianbill, can you recommend some cheap and scalable hosting for my fb apps?

For my apps, I personally like Rackspace's Cloud Sites. Just upload and you are good to go, no server management and no hassles.

If you really scale to something BIG, like 500k users+ or a million users, then your can try Rackspace Cloud Servers or even Amazon AWS EC2+S3.

Its simple, you got your outbound IP banned by facebook.
Even if you host them on different IPs, the outbound IP will be only one, your main server IP.

What i do is i have 2 different servers, if my main ip gets banned, i request my server guy to change it and i pay him $30 extra for a new cpanel license and fee for his work on the transfer. And in that time i can use my other server.

When you say 1 outbound IP, I assume the IP which is making calls to the FB api on my server?

I bought 30 class C ips, so I assumed I will be given 30 outbound IPs too. If its really the case which you are telling then its a complete ripoff by them telling people getting 30 IPs.

Where they charge so high $4-$5 per IP.

Well im no expert, i just have a guy that used to do this work..
Based on what info i got, i used to try to host my shit all over on IPs as well, on a dedicated server. And yes, you host your sites on lets say 111.111.111.111 to ...115, but if your server main ip is 111.111.111.110, you will make all calls that goes out from your dedicated server through that ip.

Since then i only change the main ip it works fine... ok bans not happens a lot, like once a month or so.

I'm using Hostgator and I have 3 dedis with them. They give additional IPs for 2$, so why buy from seohosting? And yes, a good % of their IPs are already fucked up to be used for fb Apps. I've bought 300+ IPs from them (cancelling the old ones and asking for new) and have got ~50 unusable IPs. Better to go with HG rather than seohosting.com. And don't order many IPs together. Buy them in a bunch of 8 or 16 else you may get a fully fucked up class c ip range.

I am doing that already, dedis with your own private range of IPs is the best way to do stuff.

However a lot of times I have got my entire range of IPs blocked too with some of my clients.

As Iam in a biz where you always need to find new hosts and servers, I saw that seohosting is providing Diff Class C ips , NOT from the same range.

That was the main reason I bought from them only to find out they are ripping people off with 1 ip at the outbound IP.

Any ways, my advice to all fellow board members here doing FB apps would be to stay away from them.
