Any musicians here on BHW?

Guitar for 7 years. Dabble in harmonica also. Look on youtube for "Legions ov Typhon", it was a cover band I was in about a year ago. It was fun. :]

I'm a metal guitar player, although I don't play much these days. I used to collect 80's Charvel / Jackson guitars, and still have a few from the custom shop. -e-
 
I play the violin, a few years ago I was on a Symphonic orchestra but I'm retired now
 
I used to play saxophone and thrompet for 4 years but now I play guitar or drums a lot.
I play guitar when ever I can, even when my pc is loading or something else loads.

Nice to see so many musicans here.
 
Been playing guitar since I was 14 years old. (Sheesh my hands are tired! :p) I'm thirtysomething now.

Toured UK and Europe with my band who shall remain nameless! Music permeates everything I do in life, including my username here. ;)
 
Hey I'm a Dj, pretty good 1 too, mix club, electro, house etc.. Have some very nice remixes btw:D
 
got a MIDI workstation in my basement, and still use an ancient Yamaha DX7 for the controller.

it's just for screwing around though. propellerheads reason is my favorite MIDI software.
 
I know how to play the drumset. Learning piano now. Composed 7 songs. I always like to hear that somebody wrote a new song. :)
 
YouTube is the greatest site in the world for any sort of guitar lesson you can think of. Just about any song you can think of, there's a lesson on YouTube showing you how to play it. At the very least, there's somebody on there doing a cover and it's close enough that you can see the chord changes.

I recommend anybody sitting on the fence about learning to play an instrument should just do it. I didn't pick up the guitar til I turned 30. I'm 37 now and too bad if I do say so myself.
 
I play guitar. Mostly just blues stuff though. I play slide in open G or open D as well as standard tuning.

I have 7 guitars. I have a Gibson SG, a G&L Tele, A tricone resonator Guitar, and a duolion single cone. I also have a few acoustics.

I love blues primarily and just play that, electric blues, country blues, slide guitar.

I work in a music store selling guitars and stuff so I'm around what I love all day long and get to play a lot of nice guitars.

Im new to the forum, so I thought I would try to contribute a little. Im new at IM, so I cant help there YET. But here goes :)

I am a musician. I play drums, guitar, keyboards, and bass. I used to drum in a metal band a few years back. I left that in 06'. I am now a certified audio engineer and a producer. I graduated from The Recording Workshop School of Audio and Music Production. I now run a small studio in Cleveland. It is a home studio, but I do good work, and have a good amount of clients. I am definitely trying to move the hell out of Cleveland ASAP. As far as production goes, I make hip-hop beats and instrumentals and sell them to rappers. But, I also can do instrumentals for any style of music for anything anyone could possibly need. If anyone needs a studio musician for hire, or any instrumentals I could definitely be of help. I've been playing guitar for 14 years and drums for 12.With some help from friends my first song I learned was sunshine of your love by cream.Then they showed me how to play stairway and I learned it in 30 minutes.Rough,but could play every note.From there I made up my own stuff and played by ear songs I knew.I hardly ever practice but learn real fast.But the drums is where I shine.The music I dig is rock,blues,rockabilly,bluegrass.Bands I like are zepelin,sabboth,the who,clutch to name a few.Nothing like a marshal tube amp and a gibson les paul with that meaty tone.

I play piano/keyboard. I started taking lessons when I was 10 (not by choice). By 12 I was playing by ear alot. In high school, I picked up a book on chord theory in the library. It greatly enhanced my ability to play by ear and I've been doing it ever since - playing for churches, youth bands, prison ministries, and charity events.

The real kicker for me was when I started going to my current church about 8 years ago. They have alot of jazz and blues influence. Thats where my personal music took a turn. So now I feel like I incorporate alot more variety into the music I compose.

I'm not much of a lyricist like my brother, but I can spit out the music behind them. I have written a few songs, but few and far between. My brother is looking at becoming a Christian band with a secular label full time. I hope it works out cause I'm his right hand man. He plays guitar and drums. I've only dabbled. However, I do record on my computer fairly well.

I am sporting Cakewalk Sonar with a ton of plugins. My gear: M-Audio Fast Track Pro, M-Audio USB Keyboard, Audio Technica Studio mics with shock mounts and pop-filters. I have alot of fun with it. I'm looking at getting a decent guitar so I can get better at it. I'd love to do some lead, though I know I could nail backup (strum, power chords, etc.).

Anyway, thats the scoop on me.
