Any musicians here on BHW?

drums all the way!! been drumming for about 10 years. Looking to teach soon. I mainly play a fusion style of DnB and funky blues. A cross between Jojo Mayer and Steve Jordan.

Guitar for 12 years on and off. Started with classical and jazz and now I'm mostly just into neoclassical and shred.

I also produce electronic music with renoise and FLStudio. Mostly classical oriented stuff (think movie scores like The Fountain or Requiem For A Dream) but do a little D & B and breakcore too.

Learning guitar nowadays without a teacher is so much easier than it was when I started. Now you basically have 1000s of lessons and songs available and tools like powertab and guitarpro to use them, not to mention all the forums and tutorial sites. I remember having to buy 5 different guitar magazines every month and using the few decent articles and tabs to learn new things from. :(

I play guitar and keyboard (haven't played for a long time), and I'm also a part time producer and composer, and haven't been that active.

Check out my band's songs here:

I was also one of the guys that produced a song in this project band:

Nothing fancy guys :)

Wow - you got some good stuff going on there. Sounds a lot like Finch or maybe Sick Puppies?

Gibson Les Paul Custom Natural Platted Gold, running through a Pod2 (Line6) in a 100 watts Marshall with a crazy horse wah... Been playing for 20 years now...

Yes . . . I have been playing guitar since I was 10 years old. I used to be a studio musician at RCA (On Avenue of Americas) in NYC .

Now I do electronic music on the computer, and create soundtracks for corporate video presentations.

Cheers! - "Wiz"

I'd like to start doing some transe music on the computer. Any idea of a good software that's friendly-user Wiz???

Playin' Drums for about 34 years.

Nice guitar man. I have Gibson SG, had to sell my limited edition Joey Murderdoll signature Les Paul to get that. But the sound has never been greater. Gibson's the best. As for Gibson les paul, fiancee promised one for wedding gifts :p

Try Cubase 4. I dont know whats been going on in the cracking world last tym they tried to crack the version 4 and failed. But else, try Cubase SX 3. Been using it for years for my own use n also other musicians/singers, sounds great and easy to use interface.

I play the drums as well...been playing for about 3 years now. Self trained for the first 30 months. Joined a school here that is Affiliated to Trinity College, London.
I personally prefer playing jazz for the real feel of jazz drumming is brilliant.

And yea as funny as it may sound, i also play and cover pantera, megadeth, metallica, COB and well...dire straits. I just love anything and everything that can be drummed along too.

While typing this out, i just realised that my musical preferences are idiotically mixed up.

I dont play but Im am an A&R for one of the majors and currently run a record company

Jazz pianist here. BH newbie... actually IM newbie. I was promoting myself on CL a couple months ago and noticed all the crap marketing that was being done in certain areas. Figured well there's so much of it somebody must be making money. Did a little Googling and I've been reading and experimenting ever since. I don't think I'll ever quit teaching and playing, but it would be nice to say no to some gigs. And students. Maybe someday I'll be rich and knowledgeable enough to give BH a lesson!
