Any Linux users here?

Used Ubuntu many years ago, for some reason lately it has been playing on my mind. The idea of throwing on a completely fresh OS that I know nothing about interests me.
So is there any Linux users here that can point me in the right direction. I didn't quite realize how many distros there actually are, it's pretty mad but the one that has caught my eye is Debian.
Would Debian be a good choice for a beginner like myself?

Cheers
Ben

Arch Linux and Linux Mint are some other great distros that come highly recommended, but for someone relatively new to Linux, you really can't beat Ubuntu. Ubuntu is based on Debian (as is Linux Mint), so there are a lot of core similarities, but it's generally more user friendly and has a larger support base as well as the backing of a for-profit corporation (Canonical).

I'm currently using Ubuntu 16.04, and I'm very pleased with it.

Gentoo User since it used to be called Enoch after SourceMage died. It has a very high learning curve for someone not coming from a Linux/Unix background. However, after performing several installs from scratch, you'll understand how the parts in Linux fit together like no other distro.
