Any .info's on Google 1st page?

If google ranks .info just like .com why few people buy .info then? .com is always taken but .info is generally available.

Common sense. .info sounds and looks crap, mostly associated with spam + unprofessional (if were talking about big business here) .com sounds good, looks good, professional, etc...

If people don't remember the extension, they type either the .com internationally, or the country extension (like .co.uk in UK, .it in Italy, .com.au in Australia, but not .us in USA, where they would all try .com first, or almost all).

And .coms have been around for many years longer than .infos.

On top of that, they are sometimes associated to spammy sites and domains because they are so cheap that they are popular among spammers as disposable domains.

be careful if you want to buy a preregistered one, it could have been compromised by heavy spamming.

That's unlikely in a .com domain.

i too have a lot of .infos listed #1 and on page #1 on google - although .infos are cheap initially they arent when it comes for renewal ;)

i usually get a .info if its a niche im not expecting to be in for the long term

I think it doesn't matter what ever domain name extension is used, being on google's top search page is the result of good seo and article marketing measures done on the site itself. but then again its just my own opinion

well ranking .info domains can be found but they just rare and if the webmaster knows how to set them up good then why shouldn't they be ranking but with all the spam sites i think the SE's just mistrust the .info a bit or the co.cc

"i too have a lot of .infos listed #1 and on page #1 on google - although .infos are cheap initially they arent when it comes for renewal "

You mean they are more expensive to renew than .com ?

People don't buy .info for the same reason .co.uk is crap. It's just to long and won't stick. Also with a .info people expect to find information. Now how many sites do you know that actually deliver only info?
