Its sad, I have been scammed before also.
Trying to get back doesn't help things.
Best to try to move on and concentrate on making yourself better

I don't advise you to concentrate on damaging someone because you will not profit. At the end your situation will stay the same.
However I can understand that you do not want to get f'ed with. Buy spammy PBN links that use hidden backlinks and point them to the target website. If you are lucky the website might get penalized. The target website must not be an authority site though.

Negative SEO, I have positive experience with it tho 
I had almost no organic traffic from SEO just few old articles that I wrote some time ago,then someone sent 2k of links to my site and DA went from 8 to 40 and I ranked some crazy keywords, now its at 2k users per week. It will probably wont last long but its like free money I already made more than 300 from it

In your case it made you profit but if you built a long term website the Whitehat way it could be completely different.

Check the BHW marketplace for very cheap PBN links. Those would probably be spammy.

Negative SEO isn’t in the rule book as such. But it’s not something that I would consider a good idea.
Its basically digital revenge and it will undoubtedly come back to bite you in the ass.
If you got scammed you’re better to learn a lesson and move on; focus your time and energy on positive things.
