Ok, I launched one of my sites about a year ago on a free WordPress template, and to my surprise, it took off in about 3 months. I have a ton of good, original content on the site, but when I was setting it up, I didn't think about how the site would eventually evolve. So all the content is on the home page, with a few other static pages.

Now, I want to branch out a bit and start writing articles related to the topics on the static pages, but I can't figure out how to do it.

WordPress has a default as either setting the homepage to static, or having all new posts publish to the home page. However, I want to write about several different topics now, and it makes more sense for each of them to have their own page. I'll keep the home page stuff as is, but I need to make a shift soon to a new layout.

Here's an idea of the structure...I'm currently set up like the red circle, but I want the site to work like the green circle:

Has anyone ever dealt with this issue before?

    Thanks!

Your "Topic A" and "Topic B" should be setup as categories. Each article should belong to some category. Your home page can have the latest articles as well as the links to the categories in your sidebar (as most wordpress themes have) Everything else seems fine.

Ditto, the first two posters hit the nail on the head. You if you have some experience with hooks, and your theme supports it, you can customise your categories further, adding static content and stuff.
