Hey, I'm looking into moving to Budapest and i'd like to ask some questions regarding business there.

I was in Budapest just before the Berlin Wall went down. The exchange rate was 1 USD = 44 forints. A beer was like 20 forints and a carafe of Bikaver wine in Eger was 40 forints.

Probably the only city in Hungary where you can communicate in english.
Now you didn't state where are you moving from and for what purpose, so it is hard to give any advice.

well, now the exchange rate looks like 1 USD=230 HUF and a beer is 1-2 USD, i guess the Berlin Wall wasn't an entirely bad thing after all , but maybe soon there'll be a wall again if Putin starts to conquer in Eastern EU

but that's only if you can find other tourists to talk to lol, if i'm not mistaken we speak the less English in the region
jokes aside, generally, old people don't really speak languages, younger generation is better at it, but if you go into a shop to purchase something, you have a great chance that the cashier won't speak English or any other language than Hungarian
