Looking to study it as my second degree and would like to be a good bit more informed about the subject.

Project management as in setting realistic goals, keeping everyone up to date & keeping on top of schedules.

That's Projerct Management Institute's (PMI) introductory book, "Project Management: Body of Knowledge" Aka PMBOK. It covers commonly accepted techniques in PM and forms as a base for lexicon. Covers more breath than depth for sure but is a good place to start.
