It's because Coreldraw is better suited for print and Illustrator better for web. And Illustrator is way easier to work with combined with the whole Adobe family.

ok, if you are noob in graphic design then use these softwares
- summitsoft logo design studio vector edition (can be found in thepiratebay for free)
- laughingbird logo designer (can be found in thepiratebay - shared by ching lui)
-- AAA logo designer (can be found in warez-bb)
 
Depends on your skill level.. for a complete graphics idiot like me, I've found the Xara line of software to be easier on my brain. I'm completely lost if I load up Illustrator :o
 
"Aurora 3D Text & Logo Maker" maybe be easy to use and many tutorial for it.
 
I SUGEST YOU TO TRY BLENDER BUT IT IS VERY COMPLICATE TO DO A LOGO SO Adobe Ilustrator IS THE BEST
 
There are a lot of free softwares in linux gimp, blender and etc. For Windows Illustrator and photoshop are the best which you can download full working demos for free and use it.

Hey,
If you are a designer or have some designing skills then I would suggest to use Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator otherwise if you are not a designer or don't have any skills of designing then please don't waste your time. Try to use a designer to create your logo.
