Any farmers in here?

Do any of you own a farm, grow stuff, milk cows, etc?

My parents have got a medium size farm, but I know lots of big farmers with 100+ cows.

Yeah, I keep my cows and goats on the balcony though. It is not easy cause neighbors have reported me to pigs a couple of times, but till the time I open the doors I hide the animals in the bathroom, so they go empty handed.
 
lol ^^^ I would love to one day have a farm, I can't stand living in the city anymore :)
 
Don't own now, but had one few years back, sold it to a builder :(
it was one of the best time, going there everyday eating fresh fruits, drinking running water lol.

my parents and uncle used to grow peanuts, vegetables, flowers etc.

also had 2 buffalloes

Miss all that stuff, but I am planning to buy a small land once I have enough cash.
 
I don't live in USA but my dad have Padi field not too far from backyard, when I was school age I help him to harvest the Padi. it was awesome memories between Father and Son. I want to buy him more Padi field so when I got married and got a son, there will be 3 mens on there. I know my English is bad :o
 
If there are any farmers here, I highly suggest you check out farmersonly dot com. You can get yourself a good looking hog with a pretty mouth over there. :)
 
Me here! I own a farm but not livestocks. Great here in my country! :) love the life in the farm. quiet and fresh air unlike in the city
 
Just horses for leisure.

Most of my family owns a farm and I probably will too. Great for dirt biking and hunting.
 
I'd like to work on one for a bit, but i don't think I could do it full time. Although, dem meats...



Maybe one day.

I agree. A few days ago I was helping out my farmer friend for 4 days. You need to wake up at 5am, do cow milking stuff (50+ cows, it takes 2 hours to milk them with machines), feed ships, do lther works. And you need to visit the cows twice a day, everyday - forever. Of course its profitable, but it takes so much time and money.
 
as i'm living in a wine-growing region, just like most people around here, we own a small vineyard, a hobby garden belongs to it with plenty of fruit trees
my grandparents own land, however they are pretty old, so they're lending it now, but they were big time farmers back then with livestock and stuff

Amen to that brother! Dirt bikes, quads, hunting and the boat on the lake. There is nothing better. Just got back from a week and half of that and I already miss it and can't wait to get back.

I have 100 acres in upstate NY and we have 20 head of Black Angus Cattle that we raise for beef. The house and property were willed to us when my grandmother passed. :( But she'd love to see us having so much fun up there. :)

Yep. Fishing, lakes, dirt bikes, saunas, vodka parties, almost no police and a lot more. Village life 1 : 0 City life. :tape:
 
The trade off is a lot less free time. You're tied to the farm every day whether you're sick or want to go on vacation. My grandfather had a large farm and a few hundred head of cattle a few miles away on open pasture land. He never slept more than about 4-6 hours at a time because he was having to start and stop the water for the fields, check the cattle, feed the horses, etc.

It's a life of continuous hard work and not as glamorous as it first seems.
 
Used to have a link farm back in the day.. haha

But yeah, I used to live in the countryside for the first 20 years of my life. Loved it :) Much better than living in London.. but London is where the moneys at.
