Any experience with Instagram ads?

I currently have an Influencer account in the fashion niche. I have 38K but with the new Instagram update the growth has stopped and my engangement has dropped.

I have thought about using Instagram Ads to boost my account, but I have not found any contrasted opinion.

Has anyone tried this service and has it worked?

I've used it for product promotion and although the ad/post could receive a ton of engagement, it doesn't necessarily translate to followers. Overtime it does, but not to the point I would run ads to gain some.

For a viral type of post, maybe it could work. If you have 5 bucks to spare, run a test and see.
