Any Blackhatters drive a G Class

Handicapped parking badge is a nice touch on the Hamann.

Those who say it's overpriced and uncomfortable haven't had an opportunity to sit in it :)

It's a PERFECT off road car, yea, price is a bit rough but still, worth it.

Ugly ? Old versions look like a coffin but take a look at this hamman version :

I would say that's a good interior - not that 70s like.

I like it humble and useful. Plus dont see a point in buying a car thats gonna lose half of its price in just a couple of years - leasing is a better option.

G class blows. We have a Range Rover supercharged. Several tell us "if I ever won the lottery, i'd buy that".
I'm pretty sure the G class is one of Mercedes worst selling cars. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think the car looks like complete garbage personally.

Beautiful styling, great for cruising big cities. If you want a good car for handling sharp turns then buy a BMW or a sports car.

People that bash this car either can't afford it or never drove it once. And for people making hundreds of k or millions wouldn't argue about the price.

This is the most solid jeep you can find on the market. Unlike some range rover toy.

I didn't want to post anymore but I get angry when I see people opinionating on things they have no clue about. Did you ever take into account the possibility in which people that don't like this car have driven it and compared it to other cars they have drove before, both off-road, on-road and SUV's?

And if we're talking about high power SUV's which the G class AMG is part of, please, please tell me what's the difference between a G65 AMG and a Range Rover HSE or a BMW x5 M or a VW Touareg V12 (it pulled a Boeing 747 on a runway) and more importantly how does each one feel when driving flat out on a mountain road? Which one is more stable in curbes? Which one has the better acceleration? Which one has the best overall ride and driving feeling?

If you're the type of guy that all he does is to drive on the strip/boulevard at 30 miles/hour with the music banging and windows rolled out, yeah you're a real driver and please get the G class AMG.... that's what it was built for...

I'm not talking about tuned cars here, like the above Hamann example made for classless arabs or Brabus and other tuning companies. I'm talking about stock cars, just the way the rolled out of the factory.

If we're talking about tuned cars, this discussion is relative. With the required skill set and budget you can turn ANY car on this planet into WHATEVER you want it to be.

The G class is and will always be regarded as:

1) Pure offroad car, which with little mods can become a great adventure vehicle (not talking about the G class AMG, which is the topic of this thread, that's too powerful and it hits the desired torque at high revs -> can't control it at low speeds needed to cross boulders, rivers, etc. -> shit off-road car)
2) Donkey mobile, with all due respect. A car made to make you look macho. It has the aerodynamics of a brick so, at high speeds it becomes wobbly, over 230-240 km/h to be exact, I've drove one on the highway/autobahn and I'm talking from experience about this.

Why are Range Rover toys? Please give reasons.. Just by the looks of them or your personal experience? Or do you have real arguments to back that up?!

My reasons why I don't like the G class AMG (not talking about the G class diesel here, which is an awesome pure off-road car):

1) Spartan interior. For that price tag I would prefer to have a lavish interior
2) Too much power. The car has more power than you can ever use, and it can't be transmitted to the wheels properly -> useless overkill.
3) Bad aerodynamics. That will result in insanely high gas consumption and the performance exponentially decreases once you accelerate. To compare, the gas consumption on the G class AMG is similar to the Ferarri 458 and performance wise, it's like comparing a fat weight lifter with Usain Bolt.
4) High ride height -> bad cornering at higher speeds (the fault of every SUV).

So, looks wise, this car is a brick with a spartan interior.

Performance wise, it's decent on straights and can do basic off-road stuff.

If you want an image car:

1) Get Chip Foose to build you a custom muscle car. It will make you stand out of the crowd more than any G class on this planet. Costs will be the same. You will get more heads turning for you. You'll get more pussy.
2) Get a classic car. Something like a 1960-1970 Jaguar E type: around 70k euro's OR a 1965 Ferrari 330 GT, you can find some at 120-140k Euros. With those cars you won't look like a Rooney and will get a more elegant, cool and confident image. And you'll get the most pussy ever and all the attention on the earth! Girls love confident and elegant guys. Just look at Steve McQueen, Robert Redford, Downey JR, George Clooney, yadda yadda.

Won't post again on this thread.
