Any advice for AMP pages?

Should AMP plugin be enabled? No?

I noticed a major drop in earnings for a site, just to find out AMP removed all the ads and monetization links.

Also AMP pages are shown straight from www.google.com, basically it's your content, your work, no ads and presented as Google's ....ain't that..not very cool?

What's the overall feeling about AMP? I'm inclined to flee from it like the plague but I'd like to you hear from you about its benefits if any.

Install Accelerated Mobile Pages plugin by Kaludi, if you use wordpress. That will let you run adds on amp pages.

Do you have experience with AMP? If this is turned off completely, will it be bad for rankings?

Yeah but they're essentially Google pages now, correct? Domain doesn't show up, your site is gone, it's basically Google showing your content.....

What am I missing here?
 
Bart do you have a link to more info about AMP? I'm feeling clueless on this.

It sounds like it's another attempt by Google to steal content.

I don't understand what you are asking. It is my url showing on google ending with /amp/.
 
PS. The ads are gone when served from there.

When people search and find your site that's the URL they go to.

You only see your own domain when you go directly.

When I search my keywords on phone my pages came up as: https://mypage.com/some-page/amp/ . There is also small amp icon posted before meta description.

Interested in this also, i have a site got 70% traffic from mobile so thinking of setting up AMP, does it by any chance improve your ranking? Or the speed/ UX at best?
 
AdSense will start showing up sooner or later on those AMP pages. Google is working on it.

I don't know about other kinds of ads or email opt-ins, but AdSense will be up and running soon.

AMP improves your chances of ranking and getting discovered because of the specific AMP box results.
Eventually, because of more organic traffic / CTR, the site might start ranking better for non-AMP pages or on non-mobile devices as well.

Well the loading of these pages that I found being served from www.google.com was nearly instant....which is cool.

But there isn't anything in it for the publisher of content....the page got served from Google itself and all ads got stripped out, if it weren't for me browsing the SERPs I wouldn't even know about it, since the traffic completely bypassed the site.

Thanks mate.

I'll test and see if pages served from www.google.com directly preserve the ads. I think they filter everything out and present their own AMP, in which case nothing I do to the site will keep the ads.

But I'll test and see.
