thx,not really looking for free antivirus,used avast in the past and wasn't so happy with it.

I you're looking for a payed one then I'd take Kaspersky.

Eset Nod 32 + malwarebytes. Been happy so far. Although they didnt stop that damn easylife browser hijacker grrrr.

AVG Internet Security 2014 + Common Sense
No problems till today
+1 for Kaspersky too, I used it in the past and it is one of the best antivirus
Kaspersky is not slowing down the PC like bitdefender do?

I now use comodo, light on cpu and free. Best program ive used so far. For extra precaution disable UPnP in your router.
The protocol, abbreviated UPnP, lets computers, printers, and other devices make themselves easily discoverable to a network router. But new research by the security firm Rapid7 shows that it could also let hackers easily discover and exploit those routers, too. And the problem is "universal," indeed: A wide-ranging scan of the Internet show that it affects as many as 50 million unique devices.

I agree. Get the paid versions of both and you won't regret it.
I have been using them for the past 6 years with no problems.
