Anti FB article starts to gain traction

I posted a link to a report on FB users and some pretty snarky stuff from what appeared to be an industry analyst offering an investor guide on FB and headlining '50% of FB users are fake'.

Sometimes stuff catches my eye and I wonder why. Confirmation bias is a bitch yeah?

Noting today that it got picked up by Mashable. This is following a PR strategy I have seen before. Got me curious.

I've got, and have had, very very mixed feelings about FB for some time, I still have very mixed feeling right now.

I can't tell whether it vanishes in a puff of smoke, goes down slowly like myspace, limps on in some manner much as it is now. I've seen at least 3 articles talking anti trust recently due to FB/Google eating all the ad revenue.

I also wonder why this article on FB, why now, and why is it gaining traction. I started reading poisonous stuff about them in 15/16/17, slowed down a bit but now this stuff...

It's caught my eye, not quite sure why, Spidey Sense tingling a little. Might just be sand in my spidey suit.

Ever since the big data election scandal Facebook has been getting destroyed slowly. But, they’re resourceful enough to adapt.

I think Facebook is so good at adapting to the user that it’d take some real effort to kill it. I’m talking a super competitor out of thin air, a lot more nefarious scandals, and then dropping the ball hardcore.

It’s a pretty resilient brand.

I agree. At the same , I never get surprised by being surprised! LOL.

I got a vibe on Discord as a giant killer and I still believe the following:

Social media will eventually be a distributed client based app, like Email clients, not like Facebook.

I think FB is an early ancestor of what will be a simple why-didn't-we-see-this outcome.

How long it take to get there is unknown.

Whats 2nd level interesting though, esp considering the current forum of discussion (pun intended) is that this is an attack on the brand and stock, by implying inauthenticity, which raises my eyebrow considering whats on offer in the marketplace here (LOL). I am a pirate complaining about another pirate (they're the worst!).

But who's pushing this data and why? Spite? truth/ Journalistic Do Goodery? Entertainment gossip?

I've been tracking the time it takes for stories to get posted on fringe media and to work themselves into MSM or legacy MSM. This one's in the mix for some reason, and that's usually cos someones promoting it.

Nah I'm just paranoid.
