"Unethical” doesn't necessarily categorize as illegal, fortunately or unfortunately.
haha true
So this is a gofundme to hire lobbyists to add more regulation thus slowing down development of a new field. They are asking 270k for this but there is no guarantee of results.
From the artist's perspective, I think its better to let people steal the art and do free marketing on it. Then once the millions of dollars of free marketing has been bestowed upon the piece of art then the artist just needs to come out and prove they are the owners/creators of the art and they can reap the benefits. Seems like lobbying to politicians is the wrong solution to the problem.
they say it's for that, not like they will give and concrete report for it. i bet they will just use like 20k to show off like they do something and the rest got to their pocket.
as for stealing, honestly with how ai work, there is no difference than real human learning from other people art style. except they patent their drawing style globally. can you patent drawing style?
the only problem i see here, is people that cannot adapt to new technology ,and people using their fear for monetization(traffic, donation, assocation, politics etc) making it like real problem.
any smart artist will use this tool teach them their own private style, and use it privately, cut down time on design significantly.
not like ai image is generate and go, anyone try to use it commercially will know you still need human touch on it. editing the image, playing with prompt, cuztomize a model.
