Another potential newb friendly link building idea, relevant links.

Hi all, I am still trying to find ways to build links in a natural way. You can see the coupon site post I made yesterday but I had another one.

Using google alerts(you have to sign up with a google account) you can have alerts regarding topics sent to your email. Why I like this is when you enter the topic google sends back alerts that are RELEVANT to them therefore relevant to your search term. Another thing is you can filter it to discussions which are likely going to show you blogs or forums which then you can register in, comment and perhaps even drop your link in. You can use it for long tail keywords too!

So while this is not a blast 10000000000 backlinks to your site cheap idea, this is a POTENTIALLY quality way to build a link that you already know google flagged as relevant to the keyword(s) you have chosen.

You can also set an alert with your site domain, in case someone mentions it you will know about it.

Excellent idea. Spot on with Google already categorizing as "relevant" to your topic.

Only issue some niches are so low key that the alerts come not often. But I do like this method for quality over quantity
