Another Google Update - The Biggest Yet

In the space of a week there has been two big Google updates.

Algoroo & Mozcast are showing massive fluctuations in the SERPS, the most recent (16/1/2016) "Burj Khalifa" is the biggest update ever recorded on these two sites.

It is too early to know what aspects of SEO "Burj Khalifa" will effect. Fingers crossed & good luck!

That's true, some of my sites are down to 10-15 of 1st/2nd page, that was before at 2/3.

That is no good at all, hopefully it's just some dancing. Will be very interesting to see what this update effects.
 
My sites are already fucked up with the first update I think Google wants me on road :(
 
I notice some huge dancing going on in the last days. The strange part is it seems kind of random.
 
I too have noticed a very weird movement of my serps.Hope it's not for the worst.
 
Will need to wait a few days before jumping to conclusions
 
Seems like it is continuing with yet another day with crazy movements, let's call it the Mounth Everest Update, lol ;D

Noticed some pages are leaving page 1 then returning a few hours later. might be a small update
 
Yeah, my site just keeps dancing up and down in page 1-2 recently. Still hope it's just some dancing.
 
My site made massive jumps upwards. Most of the pages only had social signals added to them and not really any backlinking done. I wonder if google is weighing this heavier now.
 
Most of the KWs (globally) dancing huge, locally its little stable

one of my KW shifted to 12 to 86 then 8 then 93 just now its 100

Local Search 6 > 5 > 9 > 7 just now 3
 
I checked 2 of my sites and 1 client site.

  • Site 1 has been seeing some crazy traffic and ranking fluctuations since December, but it looks like my traffic and rankings are starting to go back to where they were.
  • Site 2 is seeing even wackier fluctuations in rankings than Site 1.
  • The client site is seeing a significant increase in rankings, average ranking positions, and visitors through Google. I'm sure my client will be pleased with the results.

Similar story. I got a call at 5am from a business partner shouting "we're #1! we're #1! we're gonna be rich!!!" I go to confirm everything and my jaw dropped. This is one of the top 300 most competitive adwords terms that exist (plus a few other slightly below). It's a 7 fig / year industry. Traffic & call volume has doubled overnight. And we were ALREADY hitting monthly records previous to this. I don't even wanna think right now about the $ we stand to make.

I HAVE been doing backlinking. But very slow and passively. Like 1 power link every 4 weeks mixed with a few weaker links. On the other hand we've been getting lots of natural socials. Probably more than ever. I can't say what triggered what cause I've never believed socials to be that strong. But hypothetically if this sticks, we might make 1.5, 1.6, 1.7, 1.8M in 2016.

I feel fucking sick just thinking about this.
 
My site is 100% white hat and I am seeing virtually no SERP movement so far. Mostly have backlinks from youtube and social media signals

I'm amazed my phones not ringing off the hook... Some of my clients are gonna be pissed if they notice this before their rankings stabilize.

Always a difficult time trying to explain to clients the dancing of Google, sounds like you are talking shit. I have work tomorrow, interested to see how things will react.
 
I see my site is Good after the Last Google Update.
Traffic also gradually increasing...
