Hello guys

I've been having a lot of failures and some success in doing this online marketing. The last site was in the health niche and I've already sold it.
I'm looking for long term sustainable income and I know what I'm doing and would want you guys to follow my journey

GOALS
What I'll be doing :
- 5 authority sites from scratch (2 health, 1 tech, 1 business, 1 travel)
- Domains would be dropped/expired
- 700-1000 word contents (1000 kw and article per site)
- I will start small with 50 keywords and build up my kw list little by little
- Silo style

What I have
- 1 health niche up with 33 articles 700-1000 word articles with 2-3 pictures (0-5 UV/day no rankings in any keyword)

Tools that will be used
- GSA SER (Tier 2 & 3)
- Scrapebox
- Serpbook for rank tracking
- Google keyword planner
- 20 private proxies

I have a budget of $2000 for the whole project. I'll write most of the content and some manual link building.
Will have to compile a good list of keywords first.

Good luck to me.

Sounds like a pretty solid plan so far. Why not start with one authority website and leverage the profit from that for the others?

Also, I suggest you get Longtail Pro for the KWR. It will give you better results than they keyword planner.

One other thing, where is the content coming from? Are you writing it or buying it?

Thats a nice suggestion. I'll work on this health website first then. Because ranking takes time, I would start 1 or 2 more sites while waiting for it to rank

I'll rank the keywords in individual posts and send small amount of links to the main site.
Static front page.

I see that long tail pro is a hassle if it isn't a platinum version. I cannot favorite a keyword. If you know what I mean :)

The platinum version would be better but I use the pro version with some success.

If you PM me with some keywords I can run them through LTP if you want and send you the export.

Thanks! I got the LTP and am still exploring the options.

Update:

I now have 47 posts with 700-800 words in the 1st authority-ish website in the health niche
Did 10 guest posting from a BST (blasting it with GSA)
Speed rank by Tommy
Some manual web 2.0

32 indexed pages according to Google Webmaster Tools (GWT)

I would suggest go slow with links building for authority site, since it depends much on the contents. For me I will not using GSA or large link building for authority sites. Instead, go slow with relevant topics site and ask for a link back from bloggers if your articles are really value reading to visitors. Next use your own PBNs or using services here but carefully select relevant niches rather than those cheap PBNs that have OBLs over 10+.

Also it works for me for "main" keyword that have over 1000 or 2000 words as pillar articles, and then build many LSI or secondary Keywords with 300-500 words each and then link back to the pillar. Example for 1 pillar article, I have 20 over smaller articles link back to it. For my pillar, I will use "high" quality backlinks, as for the LSI articles, I will use web 2.0.

Thanks for the suggestion. Will try doing this.
This is a site I created this February 2015 and have put some articles on it. I got busy with my studies and eventually stopped the project. I am now back on track and will try to give 30 hours a week on this project.

Update:

- Interlinked 24 posts
- cleaned up some long permalinks
- rewrote boring titles & description to a more catchy ones which I'm sure can bring more clicks
- optimized images (wrote descriptions about the article in a LSI way. 2-3 sentence)
- all my affiliate links were do follow links so i had to make them no follow links (target="_blank" rel="nofollow")

All my posts have about 2-4 images.

I'm still thinking if I should add a popup for mailing list.

Hey man, great journey so far.

I have a couple of questions if you don't mind me asking. I know a lot of these are answered elsewhere on BHW but i'd love to get your take on it.

1) What search volume do you target or find best for your Keywords?
2) Are you using any special tools/plugins for the Silo structure?
3) Where do you get your images from? Also, do you adjust them in photoshop before you upload them?
4) What are your monetary goals for this journey?

Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences with us all!

Minimum of 480 (but some are less than that)

2) Are you using any special tools/plugins for the Silo structure? I'm just using excel and trying to organized what URL is linked to what in that particular category. Try doing that.

3) Where do you get your images from? Also, do you adjust them in photoshop before you upload them? I get images from pixabay. At first, I used photoshop and added the site's logo but now I just rename it, and I'm using JPEGmini to make the jpg file size smaller (for mac os).

4) What are your monetary goals for this journey? Well, I want to make a sustainable income, semi passive. Preparing to get married and want 4 kids, so I really need something. That is my motivation.

Update:
- Posted 2 more articles 700-800 words,
- 1 article scheduled to be posted for 3 days (+ 3 articles)
- Manual silo, cleaning up the permalinks to 3-4 words as much as possible
- 10-15 UVs a day
- Webmaster tools shows me 35 indexed urls

I'll still need to interlink 12 posts. It takes a lot of time because some of the permalinks are really long and have to optimize images to my liking, proper h1 h2 h3 tags and sometimes adding amazon affiliate products

looking great! Another great way you find easy to target keywords is by using semrush.
all the best!

If you did some success, you will do again. How to compile a good list of keywords and Can you show me some tutorial that teach us how to scrape list with scrapebox. Thanks very much.

Sounds like a solid plan, hope you stick to it. My advice, focus on 1-2 websites, don't rush into things. Good luck!

Hello guys, this is an update. The first site I was working on had a very bad start. I ordered some nice PBN links from BHW and I feel that my site is ruined. Google seems to have done some manual penalty, even though I check my WMT, there's no message. Traffic is 0-1. I'll start over and post updates soon

Edit: I ordered a niche site 2 months back and it didn't look any good. It was just an eye candy. So much to fix. I hired a VA to do this for me and I'll start working on them. Also I have my own site started again because I lost interest in the niche of the first one (plus the bad BST service that I got).

I know there is so much negativity in this post, but I'll get back to my positive side starting today.

So what I have is

3 Niche sites.

1 in Business
1 in Hobby
1 in Health (my personal project)

I'll be focusing on the health site as I started to post some articles and am seeing some impressions in GWT.
This time, I'll focus on just one site and pour my heart out.

So I've added 5 posts to my Business site (scheduled till nov 20).
Content size: 400-1000 words
I'll also add a post to the health site before I go to bed.

I'm trying to build links using linkauthority.com for tier 1 and would ask if some of you guys have tried it and would it be recommended for tier 1? I've got 2 quotas/day I also asked around about their premium subscription and I'm not sure if it is worth $150/month

Same boat as you, authority site too and today I hesitate to take the premium subscription and with the fee is $180

I think the premium network is more safe, but yes if people can answer us
