Another easy way to get quality backlinks (BH and bit of programming knowledge required).

Hi, I'm not sure if this technique has been posted yet but here is a little technique I use to get backlinks which works really well.

Build a piece of software (no matter how trivial, better yet head over to hxxp://www.thecodeproject.com or hxxp://www.planetsourcecode.com/ and grab a piece of code).

Open up the code and change a little bit of the functionality / GUI whatever, just make it different.

Zip it up and then create a PAD file (hxxp://www.asp-shareware.org/pad/) but place links inside the pad file to the website (url) you want to rank for.

Upload the ZIP file to the same website url that is inside the PAD file and then submit the PAD file to some of the bigger Download directories.

Alot of the smaller directories obviously spider the bigger directories and from there it just snowballs.

For a recent WH site I got just under 3000 links from well established download directories and I am now at number one in Google for my targeted phrase.

Total time involved; 1/2 an hour adjusting code, ten minutes creating PAD file, ten minutes uploading PAD file to directories.

not sure i understand this .. so it's about changing an app, uploading it to private server, then submit to a directory the link to the app file from private server .. right ?

Hi, yes that's correct. There are a ton of free software / shareware directories around and alot of them have high PR. When you submit your PAD.XML file the directores automatically create a link to your website. It's a nice easy way to get high quality incoming links.
