Another 301 thread!

Hey guys,

I know there is a lott of threads about 301'ing etc. But this is a little different.

Whats the situation

- Penalized domain, manual spam + maybe panda/penguin.
- What has been done, the manual spam penalty has been fixed over 3 months ago, so no manual penalties whatsoever.
- What has changed, absolutely nothing, got even worse...

So I figured, my offsite seo should be ok now, link juice should be ok. Maybe manual penalty is still in its after effect or maybe panda penguin issues I dont know.

I think I can 301 my old domain to a new fresh domain, new content, more content. I wanted to get rid of my emd as well and hit the niche broader than before.

It looks like this.

Old domain = blueringsforsale . com
New Domain = ringsforsale . com

Redirect goes to: ringsforsale . com/color/blue

I will test this and see what happens, but still working on the new site, what do you guys think of it? Is there any sort of logic in my plan?

I do know this, but it depends on the nature of the site as well. A site where users arent looking for a 1000 words story or a 1000 words story could be sumorized in 50 words than thats the way to go! But in mostly thats not the case...

However do you think this would work in a scenario as mentioned above ?

I like the idea of redirecting to an internal page.
I believe I read a post by lmxw (is that his name? hard to remember...) a few months ago that said something to that effect. Redirecting to an inner page gives you the freedom to take down the page in case of a penalty, thus removing the penalty and leaving the rest of your site unharmed. Again - I read this. Haven't tested it.

I have removed my bad links and the manual penalty is lifted so I think it wont be an offsite issue any more. Thats why I think I can 301 to a new site with more content. I think it was an over optimization penalty. So if there different content why a penalty?

Is your old site getting direct visitors, as in being popular elsewhere? Isnt starting over with a new domain an option? 301 may be a solution but if there is any penalty, it may sooner or later catch up with the new site and you won't be getting anywhere.
