Anonymous browsing (is there a guide?)

Hi all,

Wondering what people use to stay anonymous when browsing? has anyone written a newbie guide?

Is TOR browser enough? can it leak anything?
Or should I use some extensions to stop canvas fingerprint etc.?
I have also read about other browsers like antidetect, linken sphere? these look pretty advanced. anyone used them?

The tor browser usually warns you in a way or another when you're doing something wrong, so I'd say it's good enough for general anonymity. Though if the FBI is looking for you, I wouldn't rely solely on the tor browser.

Are there different VPN quality? I was reading about DNS leak.. or is that just a proxy problem?

Know if TOR saves any state in the browser? what if I want to create a new "user profile" with a site and build up some reputation and history.
But then have a different "user" for something else.

Consider using a VPN then. Use CC Cleaner to erase your cache, history, and cookies. Personally, I like using different browsers on different PCs for stuff like that. Usually those are backlink accounts.
 
A vpn is definitely the right option, I prefer NordVPN out of all of the ones I tried out so far. There are also some browser extensions you can use to improve your anonymity. Cookie auto delete so you don't have to delete every time. User agent spoofer to make your browser look more generic (if you have a lot of bookmarks your online fingerprint is more recognizable). Also privacy badger to delete other trackers.

I personally use epic browser (free tool), it's a Chrome based browser. However, Epic browser will give you issues on site like paypal, fiverr, craigslist, etc.

For premium browsing, I use Vip 72.
 
Linux/Windows + VPN > VirtualBox with Whonix > TOR?

Hi,

The first question is how anonymous you would like to be? Tor browser a good choice, but it is only the beginning to reach maximum privacy while you are browsing.

The first step to reach maximum privacy is to choose the right VPN. On the internet there are a lot of potential offer where you can choose from. Not everybody user knows how to choose wisely.

There are three big group on the world:

· 5 eyes
· 9 eyes
· 14 eyes

So you have to choose a VPN service from outside of the 14 eyes surveillance. That’s why I highly recommend to choose:

· NordVPN

· Mullvad is included in the 14eyes, but they are unique, does not hold any logs and allow bitcoin payments! It is my favorite!

After a good VPN you have to find a good Proxy provider like 911.re.
After that you can manipulate your browser fingerprint, canvas etc.
When you are browsing, you have stay under the radar while you are hiding your anonymity and acting like an everyday user. You can create a custom browser fingerprint which looks absolutely natural but differs from your real identity!

I have tried Multilogon, Antbrowser and Kameleo softwares.
If I were in your shoes i would choose Kameleo because Kameleo has better proxy management than the other two.

Anonymity comes from a redundant practice of misdirection and good usage of tools.

I suggest installing tails OS on a bootable drive, then run tor browser through it. If you want an extra layer, add a VPN between you and TOR. Password encrypt the tails drive and make sure that no one can guess it.
 
a simple alternative way besides VPN
buy a windows VPS, and then connect using RDP, and then browsing from there (use tor for more anonymity)

but if you use it for everyday use. And not extremely anonymity I use my pc + Brave browser (they claim to block all tracker and also include private with tor mode). But I hate Tor for everyday use, since its slow.

First question is if you want to hide your identity from website owners, e.g. want to do multi accounting or pretend you're from another country, etc. Or you do some really shady stuff for which you could get busted and thus wanna hide from authorities.
As for TOR, most of its nodes are detected and blocked/flagged by major social network platforms, payment providers (With VPN situation is the same as 99% of them will have datacenter IPs and are flagged as well) etc. If you need to leverage any of these your best bet are residential proxies

TOR can leak information if you execute javascript, java, flash... I believe even the node you're placed in can leak information if not set up properly.
To make everything simpler:
1) If you want to be safe from your ISP selling your data and spying you, use a VPN.
2) If you want to be guaranteed against websites knowing who you are, use a remote server instead, you will have a dedicated IP, better latency (depending on the location), and guarantee that your original IP can't be leaked.
That would be it from masking your IP, you may stack these two layers together and the security increases, but good luck navigating... After that, you may want to hide your browser signature ( For example, at our company, instead of storing the IP, we store the IP + browser signature, that way we can ensure whether a transaction was legitimate or not ). In order to do that, you will have to look up the headers your browser sends and use plugins to randomize them, I believe that there is a browser that removes those signatures called Brave Browser.
