Im looking for some expert opinion on this one. Ive been using these links for a while now and they used to work well. For the past month or so, something has changed. I have seen nothing at all working.

I should add that I am pinging all the links and building backlinks to those links as well via RSS etc. Not all, but most of the URL's are indexed with G too. I would have expected to see some movement already.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Any comment?

I have noticed the same thing. I have seen little movement in the rankings of url's using profile links. Some of them in very low competition (>250,000) .

It's impossible to say as all keywords are different and vary in competition.

However, I don't think it's a case of the profile links not working anymore. I use them and I know many others who use them almost exclusively and have a lot of success with them.

Are you just referring to profile links or are you actually using the sites in Angela's lists?

If the latter, you're better off finding a big list of your own sites so you can be sure there aren't hundreds of other people creating links at the same sites at the same time.

For profile links to work effectively you need to use a large quantity of them.

I do agree with Pat Jackson, in that you have to find your own profile link list. I have about 200 that I run through about once a week using roboform. It usually takes about an hour to do. I guess the point I was trying to get across is to no longer just build profile links. You must diversify in so when the big G decides to change things up you are prepared.

what other links do you guys build? Ive been using the profile links exclusively, however, not just from Angela. I actually pay other service providers. I also dont just leave the links as they are. I put relevant content on the page and in some case post a 3 paragraph article in the profile with links embedded. I also check to make sure the sites stay up and dont get taken down. Then, I build backlinks to these backlinks via RSS submission and ping.fm.

This strategy has worked extremely well. Only until recently.

So what other link methods do you use besides this?

Thanks

This method will never die in my view. Maybe the search engines have decided not to visit and index those profiles as fast as they did before.

i never ping the profiles or create rss feeds
i never do a link wheel
i never go under PR5 homepage
i never use a link that creates a new subdomain (like wordpress.com)
i never use variations in anchor text

i got my own links now but i know angela links still work but DONT work because
they get deleted because too many ppl spamming them

i also dont do all that stuff ppl do....

Yeah, it looks like you have a pretty solid method down. I am sure this method will continue to work, chances are the search engines are just taking a little longer to index everything.

Keep us updated with your results.

A lot of forums notice when they get like 5000 people registering at one time. A lot are deleted immediately. I wait about 2-3 months after they come out to post. Then I can see what changes the forum owners have made.

update - still almost no improvement. some low competition keywords saw a very slight bump, anything decently competitive has done nothing....

I haven't noticed that these types of links have "quit working", but I would agree with others that you definitely need to vary your backlinking strategy to include many other techniques than just this.
