Yes it can be a profitable niche , but since you are interested in freelancing I assume you want to start earning money as fast as possible and get clients fast.Android games are in very high demand and you can get consistent gigs and money for very low effort work. I suggest you learn Unity and once you master that you will see there is a huge demand for knock off games simple arcade games that can take 1 hour to make and you can get paid at least a hundred dollars for them
