I'm a former computer guy who got caught up in a big layoff and founded an online retail operation in 2010. That operation is still running, and is oriented around buying real product and selling it through Amazon. I'm now working with a partner to get a free-standing online store up and running; we're running a mixture of "sell what we're holding" and advertising items in our supplier catalogs, then back-ordering. Current project consists of building the social media community surrounding the product. It's tough going, but we're building FB likes and Twitter follow counts. Still in double digits on that. Also doing some SEO on the free-standing site, which is built around Shopify. Putting ALT TEXT on our images, and will get around to renaming our images for SEO purposes when I can. Also, pushing Adwords for the individual products (not Google Products). I tried pushing Adwords based on the brands we're selling and burned $100 with no conversions. Considering Amazon product ads, Google Product ads. So, that's me. I like the community, and the discussions on here. Considering trying my hand at some of the opportunities I see on here; a few are genius.
