Basic Anchor Variation Tip For SEO Newbies

Panda / Penguin Updates are also depending Majorly on your backlink profile heavily (the quality of links & the variations in anchors)

While there's enuff tools/sources to get quality links, Here's what how to really diversify your anchor texts.

Its All About Making your anchors look Natural To Google. So here's what you should Not Miss! Make Sure Your Anchors Include -

Caps On/Off variations To look as Natural As Possible.
Symbols in Anchors (like - & : = etc)
Brand Names/ Site Name as Anchors
Naked urls (with without http & www parts)
Image (Links) as Anchors
keyword variations
Kw synonyms
Niche names
very long tails
Generic ones (Mentioned Hundreds Of Times, and stuff like "buy now", "order now", Source)

Link Internal Pages Too. Link Source & Quality (OBL, PA, DA matter a lot & Create Tier 2 backlinks to tier 1 To Make Sure Your links are Indexed)

These are some very basic Practices, That Some SEO Newbies Miss All The Time..

Make Sure Your On Site SEO is Right (Read SEOMOZ for On Site SEO Tips) & have a Good Link velocity (Again Read Up)

I usually try to make different ALL the backlinks.
 
let's say you have 50 backlink would each one be a little different from one another, or do you focus more (let's say %10) on the main KW or website
 
^^ You should target like 30% of your main kw, 40% of generic terms, 30% of naked urls links.
 
Thanx Op for sharing this, Would you mind giving us an idea of percentage of anchor text to use in our process like generic, brand names, naked urls
 
Though I'm not a newbie, this is a great tip to remind me of the basic practices.
 
Saving in a notepad. Most of the people would not give a damn, but this is the important area of your overall link building process.

Anchor variation, and lots of it is key moving forward these days. Nothing screams IM site gaming rank through link building more than a really narrow anchow spread, or worse just 2 -3 keywords for all anchors... and then having those reflected in your onPage. Nice info here.
 
Great advise HH, very useful. Best to keep exact keyword match low as well - 20-30% max.
 
I usually Keep the Main kw & Variations Under 25% Or So :)
