anchor text overusage?

I have been building links with automated software for a while now and been creating some web20 etc, but I am not so sure about something..
The keyword anchor text, how do you guys manage the keywords? I mean, I dont know how often I can use a certain keyword in a day or in a week?

I have a online business and I want to do it as good as possible, so blacklisting my site would hurt me. I would like to know how many different anchor text i best should use for lets say 100 or 1000 HQ manual links?

You would be best doing some with the exact keyword and some with extra words added with your keyword.

In SEO nothing is stable and everything is possible so make sure you have a "backup" site. Building you business on one domain is very risky. About links - use 3 types of links:
- exact match (exact keywords)
- domain as anchor text
- generci anchor text (exact match keywords + extra text for example "web design" is exat match so: professional web design, web design agency, php web design studio etc...)

How many of which anchors ? It depends:

- 80% EM (exact match)
- 10 % URL
- 10 % generic

Fast rankings but more risky

-30% EM
- 40% URL
- 30% generic

Should be ok, but website is ranked slower.

It's your choice how to use anchors - all strategy has good and bad points.

OP the is a law to follow but there are simple advices to follow.
Make many anchor text and use ecact match + naked URL + semantic variations.

It's also good to use the title of the page/post you're linking.
The main thing is to stay away from Google's radars and make your anchors natural looking.

I agree with intruder. When you are going to use anchor text, you need to know about keyword density. I hope from this post you already got some idea on keyword density.

In terms of external sites then you should follow the rules that are laid out by the previous posters as they are what I do and they work. However, for links to other pages/posts of my site I use almost 90% anchor text and have done for almost 12 months and the site that it is on is in insurance so it is mega competitive but I hover between positions 1 and 3 on page 1 as I have done for the whole of that time.

To give you an example...My site is called cars.com (I wish...!) and I have a page/post entitled www.cars.com/ford-cars. That is the most popular page on my site and funnily enough, it is my most profitable page and the one I want to rank. So...In my pages for Nissan, Renault, GM, car servicing, repairs, etc I always have an anchor text link for "ford cars" and sometimes I have that same anchor text twice in my post/page. Don't believe everything that the G goons tell you

Depends on your backlinks sources and the kinds of backlinks that you may be creating. But your exact match should be below 10% overall.

Use brand and generic keywords as well while postings links on the authoritative sites.
