hi guys

got a wee question about anchor links on other sites. i.e. my main keyword on free directories as a title link etc etc

Anyways, is it possible to put two key phrases in the one link?

i.e. say for example my buisness is painting and my main keywords are "painting in London" and "painters london"
Could i then use the anchor text as "painting London painters in London" (two keyphrases in one) or will this dilute the effectiveness of the main keyword?

Plus i have heard that using more characters in the anchor is better.

thanks
tony

They both get counted he same. it's like having two links.

i never saw anyone using double keyphrases in one anchor link.
I have seen something like: painting in London - the best place for painters london

regards

thanks guys. anyone else have ideas??

thanks
tony

I would imagine that if you try and stuff 2 anchor keywords in one link, they will each be registered at the expense of the other. The google bot may have trouble working out exactly what your site is about if you do this. I personally would not recommend it. Just leave a wide spread of different anchor texts in different links.

I would advise leaving these links on different domains to avoid "closing the loop". This is the mistake I made a while back, I left 2 identical links with diff. anchor text on the same page.

1 is the linkdrop site, 2 is your site. You should always avoid closing loops in this fashion, always leave things open-ended.

I normally do two anchor text links... one for each keyword. You have to be careful with this on some sites because they only allow a max of two links to any single domain name. The trick is to mask your aff links to other domains you own, and link to those.
