Hello BHT,

All of my sites backilns have about 10% exact keyword, and all of them dropped to page 2 for the targeted keyword.
After looking at google serp, I notice that all top 10 do not have and exact anchor text pointing to their site.

ex, If exact anchor is "red cars reviews"
The top 10 will usually use :
- red cars
- the best and worst of red cars
- Car types explained : blue, red, black
-... etc

None of them use the exact keyword as an anchor backlink but they still rank for top 10.

I read a lot about hummingbird and how it works, tried to add many LSI, change the title and separate keyword, just like the top 10 ranked in google.

Now, My question :
If I build a new site. Should I use 10% exact anchor text backlinks, Or LSI as top 10 in google serp usually have?

Hope I can find an answer here :)
note: all my sites have high DA and DT.

wrong forum, this is BHW :)
SO!!

I respect that you have +4000 post, +900 thanks, and you have your own running business...
But if you think black hat is about spamming, getting rank 1 over night, how your GF cheating you with here X..

Then please, don't even bother to replay, Actually... I have no idea why you made that useless replay!!!

if you want remove your replay and I will remove mine, it will hurt your business
have a nice day :)

Some sites use more than 50% exact anchor text backlinks and they rank top 3 for a long time.

I suggest you check on your top 10 competition's on- and off-page SEO, try to do the same as they do and you should be safe (at least for a while).

I am really sorry innozemec for misunderstanding you, I feel really bad for being aggressive. I sent you a PM hoping you accept my apologies.
I was vey angry because most of sites drops and was really lost and have no idea what to do, Just losing my income without knowing the reason was driving me crazy.

thankfully after checking my backlinks I found that they are not helpful at all for my site. ( changed the title to have my keyword, build more good tire2 links , found some links are on panelized sites), Now some of my sites retrieve its position and still working on the rest.

Still have a lot of work to do, most of tire1 are worthless since they are indexed but not ranking at all, anchors was made totally wrong and have to redo them (all).

Try this post, it explains about ranking without using your main keyword: http://doseoyourself.com/want-to-rank-a-new-site-dont-use-keyword-anchors/
I just complete reading the post few moments ago, this is exactly what I have notice and after doing it, some sites retrieve position within 24 hours.
I felt so bad when I saw that it was posted in November/2013... If I spot it earlier it may save a lot of my time.

This is exactly what I have done, and as I stat before it drives me crazy... I thought that I must have exact anchors in at least 20% of my links.

First of all, don't do anything fishy. Don't suggest anchor text. You don't even want to tell people to link to you. Include the main keywords and phrases you want to be known for in big letters in the title, h1 tags, and body content. People will get to the point and use those phrases, or variations thereof in their own words, to link to you.

I've been getting good results by avoiding exact match anchor texts as well. I guess they look more natural. However, it would be a good idea to have a few exact matches as well.

Apparently no one knows how many exact match anchor text backlinks you can have, as no one know what ratio of such backlinks actually triggers penalties. Like said above - there are websites with 50% of exact match anchor text backlinks and they're still ranking fine.

when i build my tier 1 backlinks should i anchor the root page of my site or the keyword page where the article is?

like it should be

*wwwfreeapplescom*
or
*wwwfreeapples\iloveeatapplescom*
