What the heck does this mean ?? That the number of impressions any of your newly posted video gets is linked to the amount of time YOU spent earlier on YT watching other people's videos??? Or is this a typo (they* upload= You upload in that sentence) ?

No, more or less the number of views/impression that a new video will get is linked to the channel total watch time (the amount of time other people spent watching all your videos).
