An Easy Question I feel Stupid for Asking

Ok, I know this is extremely basic, but I want to be safe than sorry. Basically, say I had: www.site1.com and www.site2.com. I create a redirect page on site1 to redirect to the affiliate offer as say: www.site1.com/offer.html

If I was to use that www.site1.com/offer.html as a text link in my www.site2.com, there is absolutely no way the affiliate program can find out it was redirected by www.site2.com, since it was the www.site1.com redirect, right? I hope it is that way, but I definitely do not consider my self an expert, so I'm sure there might be something I am forgetting.

They gotta click the text link from site2 to go to site1.com/offer.html... then your referrer would be site1.com.

it depends on the type of redirect on site 1.. some redirects pass referers, meta-redirect usually doesn't

here's how. http://www.site.com. has a link to 2nd page that contains a meta refresh (or javascript forward) that goes to a 3rd page which also has meta refresh/javascript that forwards to your final affiliate url.

works for me and shows no referrer.

make the pages then upload to your server to test it and then check your server logs to make sure no referrer shows.
