The default list is trash. Look on the AMR forum for the video on how to scrape. If you take the time for scrape properly and tweak your list for AA's, you'll be doing fine.

Just yesterday I put up an AMR list that I put together, in the Black Hat Tools section. I cant link to it due to my post count, but just have a look you will find it.
It is a list of 848 directories that I was successfully able to post to, as at yesterday morning.

It takes time to scrape articles directories, thats for sure.
After scraping and trimming for a month (on and off), i get around 500 AA out of 1300 submission.
I simply 'blacklist' any directories that fail more than 3 times, trim, import, trim import - same freaking process everytime. But the good thing is, eventually you will have a bigger list, bit by bit.

Believe it or not my success rate with AMR has improved lately. I couldn't say that
about 3-4 weeks ago, it really sucked.
The only advice I can give is to not use free email accounts. I have a couple of website
emails that I use and my signup success rate has been anywhere from 30% to 40%.
Out of that, my submit success rate has been around 50% to 60%. To me that's pretty
good.
Here's one thing that I started doing differently; after signing up I always submit an
article within 24 hours. I don't know if that makes a big difference or not but it seems
to have improved my success rate.
Also make sure to follow the article creation guidelines. I won't go through the whole
thing here but my articles are at least 500 words, make sure you have a good
list of categories and keywords.
My articles are at least 75% spun. I spin paragraphs, sentences and individual words.
It takes more time but it's worth it in the end.

I had some guy on the AMR forum claim that spinning is pointless. I still disagreed though. Any thoughts?

Amr is going down as the days passes no improvement at all.

Oh dear...
...No. Spinning is not pointless. But using the word 'spinning' has so many different meanings to so many people.

Sentence rewrites
paragraph rewrites
paragraph reconstruction, reordering and substitution
etc. etc.
Spinning done properly just generates more quality content; and whoever says that's pointless!?
He's probably referring to some misguided understanding about press-release 'style' syndication of duplicate content, and how many of them can rank while still being duplicate. You hear this crap recycled all the time as an excuse for being too lazy to generate different content.

Yep that's what is was talking about, syndication. He linked me to a 3 year old blog post about it.
