I have several niche sites but my soccer news blog gets a good result in AMP compared to other niches.

News blogs will benefit the most from AMP since these stories are shown in the carousel right at the top when someone searches about something on mobile. Other than that there is not much benefit of implementing AMP.

They've also added a recipes carousel.
There's a few hoops to jump through with the meta data, image sizes and stuff to stand a chance of getting featured in the carousels But once you've done 1...

Soon or later all will get as AMP looks very important for them now.

I checked that out, but right when I made this post or a day after they removed support. That means any new updates etc the site can mess up or the plugin is useless, reason why I asked.
