.Amp Backlink question

Question. If a news article has a default and amp variants of the article, but only the non-default .amp version has a do-follow backlink to your site, does Google count it?

For example, Ahrefs is not showing it since the non-amp version is the default one (amp article has non-amp version's canonical url).

So does Google count it since it is shown on Google for some mobile devices?
