I really didn't see any "magic bullet". I will never fault Amish. He works for his money.
But if you do the math...and you should...
You'll see that he is SPENDING money to MAKE money. His ROI looks to be about a 60% give or take the validity of the video.. And if you don't know how I figured that number out and/or you can't calculate your break even units, conversion rate, gross profit and ROI...you better start real small.
Yes, to be successful in media buying, you need to understand what the numbers mean. Revenue doesn't mean a thing, it's about profit.
If you can't/don't/won't measure what you are doing, how will you know when you are successful? You ultimately need to understand the math, so that you know when to pull the plug on something when it's not working OR throw more money at it so you make MORE MONEY
The method
make google compliant blog/landing page with content
post ads ( crap, we may even get lucky and get SEO traffic)
split test ( you should also test CPA offers on the page)
test
test
test
fail
more fail
SUCCESS!

You should be using keyword tools found here on BHW and using sites like spyfu to look up competing campaigns.
Also set up everything with prosper202 or tracking202. That way you can track across multiple PPC services including yahoo, bing and PPV networks. I also track my CPA campaigns via prosper.
It's not magic. It's called having an actionable plan and understanding potential outcomes. When you do that you can adjust quickly and seize opportunities
