Hey BHW, just wondering which domain should i develop into an authority info site for a geo location?

A one word keyword location .info or a brandable location .com?

America.info sounds and feels a lot more legit from a consumer/visitors' point of view, IMO.

My $.002 :)

both name is not good, not because of .info/.com but the domain name it self is not branded enough for me.

I see. What is a branded domain for you?
and If the keyword geo domain is highly search, would it be easier to rank?

americainfo.com is now on godaddy auction. the bid starts from 101$. the second one isn't registered yet

The .info is not well known so it would be more difficult for people to remember, americainfo.com is a decent domain with the best possible extension so I would go for it.

I have a feeling they are both taken.

The domains on the title are just examples ;)

Just getting a few pointers whether google will take the keyword into consideration for any domain. So for eg. if America has 1 million search and Americainfo has 50k search, would it better to get America.info because it has more search?

You shouldn't underestimate .info and overestimate .com powers. from my pov as a customer america.info would me more suitable

you need to think more about your visitors and less about google.
