AMD or Intel for your personal/work computer?

I've used AMD Processors for the past 8 years on two computers. Never been much of a "tech" guy to really care what the difference between Intel and AMD really is.

I'm using AMD bulldozer 8 core overclocked at 3.9ghz. Never been able to push it over 60% usage. Plays games and does work flawlessly. AMD is so much cheaper I wouldn't have half this much power on my budget if I went Intel.

AMD is best for gaming so far i heared not used personally.

I am still using Core2Quad and it's doing all my needs so far

I never use any AMD PC. But I notice now a days lot of my gamer friends are using AMD PC.

anyway
i am using AMD and iam happy with it
its good for descent work and loads of gaming
if you are are a hardcore gamer then AMD just kicks out intel but if u just wanna do usual work then intel is better

AMD=Mainly for gamin purposes
INTEL=Daily work, no hardcore gaming here

i've used both, i was having intel and now i am happy with my AMD

i have 5 desktop AMD pcs

2 for work bought in 2007 amd never had a sniff of a problem 2.2 ghz single core - great for work.

2 for games both running AMD 965be running gtx570 OC and gtx 560

and 1 in the loft from 2003 an amd 1.7ghz athlon 64 still works

AMD = Gaming, Office Applications, Low CPU Tasks

Intel = Showing off on the Inet your interne d***, with a processor which costed tooo damn, much.

Intel XEON = Actually doing some heavy work applications...

Intel CUDA/Open GL GPU = Actually f****** highend power!

How are amd cpu's better for gaming then intel, if the intel cpu's are much more powerful. Or is this a CPU version of the lame MAC vs PC debate,where a person is comparing a intel/amd cpu that they had from like 2004 to a amd/intel cpu they got in 2010.

Well basically the facts,

you wont need a 6/8/16 core for gaming, ever. Most games nowadays are GPU heavy (Graphic Card).

But that's not a reason to pay as much for a gaming computer as you would pay for an intel processor is it?

Initially it was 0 votes for AMD and 18 votes for Intel, until I voted a couple of days ago. The it turned out like that.

IMO AMD is good, ain't overpriced, and suit all of my needs.
