Amazon with facebook?

I know it's NOT allowed to post amazon links on facebook UNLESS it's a page of your own. But are they really strict about it? I've seen many affiliates (even here on BHW forum) who post affiliate links on facebook and still survive.

Is it safer if I use Amazon's built in "post to twitter" feature and post that "t.co" url on facebook? Can they still track where the traffic is coming from?

I'm new to amazon and really could use your help. Thanks in advance
