Hi

I have a Amazon store, in the laptop niche - very competitive.

Just wondering SEO wise, whether it would be best to target a KW like "Laptops online"..

OR

Do SEO for each product?

I would too like to know. I have website on amazon products (electronics) and the domain is "buykeyword" i am doing good with ranking in top 100 pages for all my products (since the site is about 4 days old) but Would love to climb up :). Please help?

Btw to help you, i being doing some article submission through trial of AMR and blasting it off with SB. I see decent changes in ranking but more tips would be helpful.

Yes, i'm not sure whether to rank the long tail product keywords or target the bigger keywords e.g. "BUY _____"

without a targeted domain name its pretty hard imo

personally what I did - was target a large keyword first and try to get page 1 .. after 4 months I'm number 7 and get 300 people a day from google.

the long tails are coming along and putting more work into them now that I have at least decent daily traffic... and can target them specifically.

its hard to say what is more profitable because its depends on the competition - how many links your building - and what other content your putting out there.

You should put hundred of products there . then build 10 backlinks to each page that will uasly get u ranked page 1 .. The long tailkeyowrds are the best.

I was considering doing this, but even the individual products are pretty competitive. For example, dell inspiron 14 laptop page 1 is owned by dell.com, and then laptop websites.

Sycro - I'd be interested in doing a case study with you on this... if you have skype hit me up - linkpushing - if not shoot me an email [email protected].

We can work together on this and see what kind of results we get.

These are some of the things that have always helped me:

1. get good keyword-rich domain

2. if you cannot get a keyword-rich domain, get a typo domain

3. re-write the title of the pages instead of using the same title as amazon

4. re-write some parts of the product description

5. build some links through article submission, blog commenting, etc.

thats right you need to change title / descriptions.... Otherwise 1000 other sites will have the same description and your site will never rank

It would be even better if the desciption is completelly rewritten. I saw some sites penalised, they had arouund 300 words of unique content and completelly copied product description. After they removed the desciption, they started to rank better.
