Amazon Sites: How many affiliate links per page?

How many affiliate links do you generally have on a page including any sidebar widgets, image links, and contextual links?

Worried about overdoing it, but still want to drive as many people as possible to Amazon.

I usually limit it down to 2 links per article. But I don't make all my articles amazon review articles, I mix them up with other articles that have no links at all except to authority sites.
