is it possible to hook it up to a gmails account and i can send with the gmail account also would i get a sending limit error as well

If you ain't able to get high limit amazon SES accounts then @Paranoid Android is mailing master and his SMTP service is also looks great!

If you're mailing upto 300k to 500k emails daily, you should consider a reverse ip mailing method as SES or standard smtp will not inbox for such huge mailing.
