Hey guys

So I just wanted to diversify my earning tactics and thought of monetizing through Amazon also. Got 36 clicks and made 4 sales which equaled to $26.80. I made only like one dollar and something! 4% of the whole sales is crazy!

I mean how many sales would I actually have to make to earn $100 a day- this is crazy and not something which can be relied upon because the affiliate payouts are so sad looking! lol

How do you guys make money off of Amazon..or maybe I am missing out something.

Anyway Im now content locking stuff and making $180 a day with 14 YT accounts with around 560 videos.

Good luck to you all xx

I've done the same type of thing. Not making a whole lot but I'm sure if I focused more on it it could bring in quite a bit more.

It is good to diversify though.

Most people that do Amazon find low comp niches and just build several sites. Also after so many sales your commission % goes up to (I think) 8%.

By selling more products per month you can double that commission. Maybe focus on products with higher price.

Yes I guess focusing on higher priced items is good. However, it can be very tiresome and frustrating for me to keep promoting stuff only to be earning pennies. I wish there was someplace where they would have stuff like Amazon has but with higher aff payouts. I mean 8% is pathetic as well.

Im thinking of building an online store which stuff from local furniture showrooms etc and making more.

Don't forget that the comission % resets each month!

You can make only 1 sale to earn $100. You have to sell right products. Also try to sell as much products as possible to get higher commissions. If you are not able get at least 7% commissions (111 orders and more), then go away and don't waste time with them.

This month i sold 15k on amazon, 8% commission on most items. Yeah its peanuts. But i didnt have to deal with storing products, packing them or shipping them. Money for old rope as the saying goes.

You need to promote more expensive products, those $6.7 ones you are promoting will bring you cents.

Try to promote stuff that satisfy these
(1) are a need for a person
(2) may be combined with other products
(3) do not require much research for the buyer

That is a serious number honestly. Your traffic must be pure buyer traffic and Im sure your advertising methods must be a killer because to make 8% profit and still make $15k is unimaginable. At least for me it is at this point.
Congratulations and thanks again :)

Amazon requires a plan - because unless you can reach 7.5% - 8 % every month it's tough to really get anywhere.

So spending too much time and money on low paying products cannot be your first priority -- sure you will sell them anyway
as people buy other products or accessories - but you need to market the higher priced ones to really get anywhere.

Also product/niche/season/time of year - there are alot of factors in the short run so you need to have a few sites.

Sure you can go Social Networks - Ad Sites but that's probably more short term.

Anyway I really enjoy working with Amazon - but like I said there's no escaping the fact its work.

Good Luck With It .. cheers.

I totally agree you should be happy you are making some money!!! Lol with increasing traffic and as your site matures you will make more besides fix your niche with good keywords and fast moving products which could bump up sales :) Good Luck

Thanks alot for your comment and advice. I feel at times that low priced products are a little bit on the safer side when I talk from the buyer point of view. I mean if its not good enough, meh at least we havent lost $$$. On the other hand, I feel we have to build trust and a good reputation in order to sell highly priced stuff since no one buys stuff from someone who hasnt really got authority or much knowledge about what he or she is selling. What do you think?

Lana - Think about people typing in benefit related searches. Let me give you an example, and tell you why you would want to do this.

"best vacuum for pet hair" for example. It is incredibly more targeted and more of a buying keyword than "vacuum" or "vacuum reviews" etc.

Your conversion % will shoot through the roof on keywords like these. You can briefly review the top 2-3 vacuums that are used for pet hair and have a link to buy on amazon for each one. If you were just ranking for a product name, what happens when that product is no longer for sale or out of stock, not to mention much more broad of a keyword? Targeting keywords this way allows you to always have product options, and gets a crazy high conversion ratio because it's EXACTLY what they are looking for. Also, it's way easier to rank for a longer tail KW like this.

Good luck
