Amazon SEO tips?

Hi,

I have a big competitor on a niche market and I can't succeed in taking the 1st position. We have almost the same number of reviews and the same mark. So :

We optimized title, bullet points and description with KW research
We made sponso ads
We boosted our sales with coupons
We boosted our sales thanks to other people

But we are still 2nd and we never get the 1st position. Do someone has some tips to succeed in grabing the 1st position?

It is hard to grab #1 in amazon and you have to do more of the same, it is a grind. His listing may convert slightly better than yours, his brand might be older than yours, he might get external traffic that you do not get, he may rank for a wider range of keywords, etc. There could be various reasons.

We were 1st before he arrived. We are older than them. That's true that he can get external traffic coz he doesn't have an e commerce website contrary to us.

Concerning the KW, I tracked all his keywords and he doesn't hide a wider range than me, he just has better position.

it happens all the time that a new #1 comes up, the difficulty is to maintain #1 spot; he probably gets a better reviews/sales ratio than you among other things, as you said you are older but he has the same number of reviews; soon he will have more reviews than you and it will get harder to close the gap.

so without any detail, I would guess you need to increase reviewing rate, fine tune conversion rate, do more promos, etc.
